The elimination debate

Its interesting to note the circles in which we move and how they have a bearing on how we view the world.

In my circle of friends I know no one who uses cloth nappies, admittedly I've never really talked at length about the nappy issue.

In some circles everyone is using them: http://www.essentialbaby.com.au/parenting/baby/raising-ecobabies-20080811-3tag.html?page=-1. I particularly like the idea of using nappies made from bamboo. I'd particularly like nappies made from the bamboo growing right next door. And that stuff in Glebe that took over our garden.

And really, should we even be using nappies at all, perhaps using the 'elimination communication' technique which is completely nappy free, and essentially relies on developing and recognising signals between mother and baby regarding the suitability of a location to eliminate and the need to eliminate, most commonly using signals such as restlessness in the young'un and 'psssst..' noises from mum. http://www.diaperfreebaby.org/

I've also been considering the use of my own urine as a fertiliser. Apparently they do it in Sweden.
